ABOUT

Born in Miggiano in 1964, Amalia studied set design at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Perugia before spending eight years in New York. There she developed her musical practice with the guidance of jazz singer Betty Carter and studied with Susan Batson at Black Nexxus. Alongside music, she exhibited digital artworks at the Ward Nasse Gallery and Gallery 128 and designed clothing for American boutiques.
Her debut album, Amalia Gré, was released by EMI Music in 2003, followed by Per Te in 2006 and performances in theatres and at festivals. In 2007 she took part in the Sanremo Festival with Amami per sempre, performing alongside Mario Biondi. Her recordings also include Beige, released in 2019, and Amalia Chill in 2026.
Her work as a visual artist continued alongside her music, with solo and group exhibitions in New York and Italy. In 2024 she composed an Ave Maria especially for the Pantheon in Rome and performed it inside the mausoleum with the orchestra of La Fenice in Venice.
Home Jewellery brings her exploration of materials into the home. Using hardware, reclaimed objects, painted clay and gilded details, she creates works that can be arranged and rearranged like jewellery. They invite the people who live with them to take part in the composition, choosing how to adorn their own space.

THE PROJECT
Home Jewellery is a collection of works conceived as jewellery for the home: decorative elements made from hardware, reclaimed materials and gilded details, transformed into precious, theatrical objects.
Each work can be chosen, moved and changed according to the occasion, just like an accessory to wear. You can own one or many, use them individually or combine them all together, as a woman does with her jewellery.
The home thus becomes a body to adorn: no longer just a space to live in, but a living presence to embellish, transform and dress.
